RIUH SOKMO! bersama Celcom’ targets 20,000 visitors in Kelantan

KETEREH, 15 September 2022 – The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (K-KOMM) through MyCreative Ventures Sdn. Bhd. (MyCreative Group) targets over 20,000 visitors at ‘RIUH SOKMO! Bersama Celcom’, the fourth edition of Kembara RIUH Keluarga Malaysia in collaboration with telecommunications provider, Celcom Axiata Berhad (Celcom).

This edition will take place at Stadium Mini Majlis Daerah Ketereh and Padang Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Ketereh, Kelantan.

According to Unit of Corporate Communications
MyCreative Ventures Sdn. Bhd. ‘RIUH SOKMO! Bersama Celcom’ which will be held from 16 to 18 September 2022 aims to empower activists, entrepreneurs, and practitioners of the local creative industry nationwide.

The program reflects the Government’s concern and commitment in restoring the creative industry following the COVID-19 pandemic which affected the income of these creative industry practitioners.

Various community activities, creative workshops, as well as cultural shows such as Wayang Kulit, Dikir Barat, Rebana Ubi, Perahu Kolek, Silat Dance will showcase through ‘RIUH SOKMO! Bersama Celcom’.

There will also be special appearances from local artists including Kugiran Masdo, Faizal Tahir, Datuk Ramli Sarip, the band Wings, and many others.

To date, the Kembara RIUH Keluarga Malaysia program has created approximately 3,000 job opportunities and supported a total of 1,803 artists and creative industry entrepreneurs throughout the country.

Overall, Kembara RIUH Keluarga Malaysia aims to create more than 7,000 job opportunities and support more than 5,000 artist and entrepreneurs of the local creative industry in 14 locations across the country.

Kembara RIUH Keluarga Malaysia, which started at the beginning of the year 2022, was originally based in the Klang Valley area. It has now spread its wings to the states of Johor, Sabah, and Melaka in an effort to help artists in the creative industry who were negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Government’s efforts through MyCreative Group have proven successful in bringing together creative entrepreneurs and local art activists from 10 branches of the creative industry including music, performing arts, creative content, literature, design, cultural and traditional arts, culinary arts, visual arts, fashion, and creative education, implemented through strategic collaboration and connecting creative entrepreneurs, art activists, and creative industry practitioners as well as the local community.

The creative industry has been recognized by the Government as one of the high-impact strategic industries which is given special focus under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP).

This industry is targeted to contribute as much as RM31.9 billion to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2025 because in addition to aiming to connect the creative community with society, Kembara RIUH Keluarga Malaysia possesses the ability to create opportunities in generating income from the creative arts and further contributing to the national economy to achieve this goal.

The entire Keluarga Malaysia in Kelantan and neighbouring states are invited to attend and give their support to the entrepreneurs, local arts activists, and practitioners of the creative industry at ‘RIUH SOKMO! Bersama Celcom’.–THE MALAYA POST
