MIT Pahang 2024: Government’s First B2B Expo to Boost the Tourism Industry

The Pahang State Government will host the Malaysia International Tourism Expo Pahang 2024 (MIT Pahang 2024), the first government-organized business-to-business (B2B) expo in Malaysia.

According to Pahang State Unity, Tourism, and Culture Committee Chairman Leong Yu Man, the expo, scheduled from October 8 to October 10, serves as an excellent platform to attract investments in the state’s tourism industry.

“One of the objectives of MIT Pahang 2024 is to provide a ‘business to business’ (B2B) platform for tourism players from Southeast Asia and around the world to connect and foster cooperation,” she said.

She made these remarks during a press conference for the launch of the Malaysia International Tourism Expo Pahang 2024, themed “Sustainable Tourism, The Way Forward,” held at the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel.

Also present were Tourism Pahang General Manager Kamaruddin Ibrahim and Central Region Tourism Malaysia Office Director Azmi Abdullah.

Leong explained that the expo will also feature Club Med Cherating as one of the program venues to showcase the overall beauty of Pahang.

Tourism Pahang General Manager Kamaruddin Ibrahim added that the expo, to be held at the Sultan Ahmad Shah International Convention Centre in Kuantan, will position Kuantan as a business meeting hub for participants from around the world.

Meanwhile, Central Region Tourism Malaysia Office Director Azmi Abdullah stated that the expo could also serve as a stepping stone for Tourism Malaysia to achieve its target of 35.6 million tourists with an income of RM147.1 billion by 2026.

Notably, this program is an excellent platform for tourism industry players from both domestic and international markets to exchange ideas and explore business opportunities within the tourism sector.

Furthermore, it promises extensive opportunities in economic, cultural, and strategic tourism dimensions globally. The program is expected to see strong participation, including 100 Sponsored Premium Buyers, 900 Invited Global Buyers, Prominent Travel Associations and Organizations, and more than 10,000 industry visitors.

Among the objectives of MIT Pahang 2024 is to provide a B2B platform for tourism players from Southeast Asia and around the world to connect and foster cooperation.

In addition, it offers seminars and workshops for industry players to gain insights and knowledge, creating a conducive environment for sourcing and business transactions among exhibitors and buyers.

The expo also promotes sustainability, supporting responsible tourism practices that prioritize environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and the well-being of local communities, ensuring the long-term viability of tourism development in the region.

Activities planned during the Malaysia International Tourism Expo Pahang 2024 include a tourism exhibition featuring participation from all Malaysian states, as well as countries from Southeast Asia and around the world.

There will also be tourism seminars to discuss industry issues with experts from various countries.

Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions will facilitate networking and business interactions among tourism industry buyers and sellers.

Additionally, there will be a GALA Night Dinner at Club Med Cherating and cultural performances showcasing the attractions and uniqueness of Pahang.

The inaugural Malaysia International Tourism Expo Pahang 2024 (MIT Pahang 2024) is a significant step in empowering the tourism industry in Pahang, ensuring it remains relevant and thrives on a global scale, in line with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign. .–THE MALAYA POST
