Malaysia is listed as the 18th most peaceful country in the world based on the Global Peace Index (GPI) 2022 which is the main measure of global peace in the world.
The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob also shared the related GPI report on his Facebook page saying that during his administration, the country was listed as the 18th most peaceful country in the world based on the Global Peace Index (GPI) 2022 which is the main measure of global peace in the world .
“The report prepared by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) presents the most comprehensive data-driven analysis of the indicators of peace trends, economic values and ways to foster a peaceful society,” he wrote.
Reportedly, the GPI covers 99.7 percent of the world’s population using 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators from highly reliable sources.
The data measures aspects of security across three main factors, namely the level of community security, the development of domestic and international conflicts and the level of the military.
The GPI uses a composite index that measures the peace of a country on a scale of one to five.
The lower the score, the safer the country.
