Enough is enough, Ronnie Liu tells Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23 – DAP veteran Ronnie Liu has reminded Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim not to be fooled again by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Liu claimed that Dr Mahathir had lied on many counts, not only to Anwar but also to the coalition.

“Dr Mahathir is a liar (penipu besar) and he lied to us so many times.

“Back then, we were lied to because we never thought that he would lie to us. We thought that he has repented and wanted to offer his service to Malaysia.

“That was why PH allowed him to jump on the bandwagon.

“(And) in the upcoming election, he wants to work with Anwar and PH? This is a lie,” he said in an interview with The Malaya Post last night.

On Friday, Dr Mahathir, who is Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) coalition pro tem chairman, said he was prepared to meet Anwar for talks on possible cooperation to face the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).

Anwar in his response on the same day said he had no qualms about meeting Dr Mahathir to discuss political cooperation.

However, after attending a PKR dinner in Penang last night, Anwar downplayed a possible cooperation with the former prime minister.

Not giving a direct answer, Anwar said he was willing to discuss with anyone.

Liu said Dr Mahathir was aware that without PH, his party, Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang), had nowhere to go.

“In the Johor by-election, his party lost badly and even lost their deposits. Therefore, in GE15, he will not have a good chance.

“I’m not arrogant or have low regard for his party, which (in my opinion) is a second Umno.

“But, I believe that he is trying to fool PH and Anwar once again

“If I get to meet Anwar, I’ll tell him not to be fooled again. Enough is enough.”–THE MALAYA POST
